Welcome
This month we meet Oona Bannon, co-founder of the celebrated London
furniture designers, PINCH. The business began around the kitchen table with
husband, Russell Pinch, 13 years ago, progressing to a south London studio
which has since doubled as a showroom.
Now, we are truly excited to be able to visit PINCH’s first ever shop to peruse
Oona and Russell’s award-winning collections. And as you can imagine, the shop
– situated in London’s fashionable Pimlico area - is every bit as beautiful and
understated as the duo’s effortlessly tasteful designs.
As well as talking to us about their new premises, Oona shares her advice
with new talent entering this year’s brand new WIN Awards category,
Emerging Product Designer of the Year, and tells us what she will be
looking for in the submissions.
On the subject of the Awards, time certainly flies and in the twinkling of an
eye we find ourselves with just over a week away from the closing of the WIN
Awards Interior Projects and Interior Products categories. Make sure you
take your chance to win by sending us your entry before 09 June.
Your submission will be judged by some of the most influential people in
the interiors industry, and we’re now proud to announce our expert line-up
for the WIN Awards 2017.
With winning comes the prize of worldwide publicity and a raised awareness
of your work. As well as receiving a coveted accolade in front of an
international audience of the industry’s movers and shakers, our winners
will also be showcased in our annual Book of Winners. Could your project
or product be featured in its pages this year?

in Washington, DC, where jazz greats such as

GLIESE DESIGN
Atria is both a side table and magazine rack.
The table is supported by four slim legs with a

Furthermore, the magazines can clearly
be seen between the metallic rods which
create transparency...
CAFES ENTRY
MIDDLETOWN CAFÉ
STUDIO TATE
The concept for Middletown Café came from
the client’s desire to create a luxurious yet
approachable dining experience. The brief was
to create a hospitality offering with beautiful and
aspirational sensory touchpoints, elevating the
traditional humble café into a brunch destination.
Completed in September 2016, the 200 square
meter project is the embodiment of refined style
and thoughtful consideration to detail...

LIGHTING SERIES
TWO PARTS
The Two Parts series of pendant lights consist
of pure 3D-printed ceramic geometries that
enigmatically illuminate both themselves and their
environment without discernible aid from a light
source. Each fixtures unibody is lit by clandestine
LEDs, inverting its visual perception as the interior
surfaces act as the light source…

LOST IN SEASONS
JOANNE MOTEE
The Lost in Seasons design creates a crisp, artistic
and clever design that works within the constraints
of a limited retail space. The design needed to

The Rock Creek House is a renovation project
of a 1920’s brick structure that was originally

MINGGU DESIGN
Minggu Design poured their heart into this project
and finished the lobby of Orange Crystal, the final
part of the hotel to be completed. Considering the
hotel lobby has the superior geographical position
of facing the street, but thinking overall of the
building’s scale, its spatial depth was slightly lacking.

The revolutionary project that the studio of
