CANAL HOUSE HOTEL BY CONCRETE
The concept of the Canal House has been to build a luxury boutique hotel, which offers all the service, you expect from a five star plus hotel combined with the welcoming and warm feeling you get from a home. The aim was to create a true home away from home, in a house, which you could use nearly as if it would be your own. Next to the individual rooms the guests have the opportunity to stay in the living room, the parlor room with a house bar, the garden and even in the kitchen according to their needs and mood.

ALEMANYS 5 BY ANNA NOGUERA ARQUITECTA
The Alemanys 5 house is situated in the oldest part of Girona's old district. Although it is difficult to determine the age of the building structures, the most important alteration dates from the sixteenth century.

QUINTA DA SERRA BY ADAM RICHARDS
Located in the mountains of southern Portugal, this project is the restoration and conversion of a traditional stone quinta. The intention was to make the spatial sequence of the house an intensified, abstracted distillation of the landscape: chasm, ledge and cave.

The footprint of the original ruined farmhouse was used for a new stone, box-like building that forms the heart of the house, enclosing bedrooms and defining courtyards.

WELCOME TO INSIDE!

Last week we attended the launch of Sir Terence Conran's 'The Way We Live Now', an exhibition at London's Design Museum to coincide with Conran's 80th Birthday. The exhibition celebrates Conran's contribution to design and explores his unique impact on contemporary life and includes not only his own designs, but also those he has commissioned from others. A fascinating exhibition and well worth a visit.

In this issue we have an interview with Paul Nicholson, from Chalk Architects. Chalk were shortlisted for the Retail Interiors Award with their charming design for Small Batch Café in Sussex, UK. The team have designed another café under the Small Batch brand located in myhotel Brighton, WAN were at the launch to join them in celebrating their latest venture.

Stacey talks to Deadgood, the British design team creating stunning contemporary furniture, lighting and interior products for commercial and luxury domestic interiors around the world.
