| MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS, BOSTON, BY FOSTER & PARTNERS |
 |
| The fifty-three galleries in the new Art of the
Americas Wing are arranged chronologically
over four levels, rising from Native American
and seventeenth-century works to modern
art on the top floor. From the outset, the
design of the gallery spaces allowed for
flexibility: services could be moved to
accommodate large objects; or a glazed
panel in the facade aligned with the window

| THE CHATEAU HAUTEVILLE BY JORGE CAÑETE |
 |
Walking through the gate of this castle
located close to Vevey feels like going back
in time and entering somewhere straight out
of a fairy tale.
The castle, built in 1760 in the purest style of
the 18th century with its horse shoe shaped
structure and 'trompe-l'oeil' facades, could
not fail to fascinate Jorge Cañete, an interior
designer celebrated for his signature style
situated between memory and modernity
and his liking for contrast. |

| WELCOME TO INSIDE! |
|
Welcome to the Christmas issue of
INSIDE.
And we are positively bursting with
festive cheer!
Giselle Mannering from dehasse
interior design, shows us last minute
Christmas decoration ideas, Amy
Knight interviews Paul Symes about his
absolutely fabulous windows for
Fortnum and Mason, and notable
figures from the world of interior design
share their plans for Christmas and the
New Year.
We've had a great year at WAN
Interiors + Design, with over 300 entries
to our awards and stunning interior and
design projects from around the world.
To thank our award jurors for their
support, we invited forty-four judges to
join the WAN Team for dinner at the
OXO Tower, located on the South Bank
of the Thames in London. We had a
great evening exchanging tales of
heated debates over award shortlists,
and shared stories about winning
projects that have led to unexpected
opportunities for many of our architects
and designers.
On behalf of the WAN Interiors +
Design team, that just leaves me to
wish you all a very happy Christmas
and successful 2012.
See you next year.
