INTERIORS+DESIGN for architects
Tent London, 20 - 23 September, 2012

Head East for the must-attend events of London Design Festival

Tent London have produced an ever-evolving design show for six years now and with the show content changing by 50% each year it always remains ahead of the curve. 2012 sees Tent's amazing reach bring together over 200 international exhibitors from over 26 countries. Established independents and 'new finds' will show the very latest in contemporary interior products - furniture, lighting, ceramics, textiles, materials and accessories; alongside spectacular Feature Elements, and presentations from Country Pavilions such as Hungary, Norway, Taiwan, Japan and The Netherlands.

Stand Exhibitors this year include 3form, Anthony Hartley, Be+Have, Ercol, Erica Wakely, Fab UK, Invisible City, Mini Moderms, Roussel and Zuzunaga with Texidors and many more.

On arrival visitors will notice a new unmissable street presence with 70m of 3.5m high glazed street frontage. The sleek new entrance will be shared between Tent London, who will occupy the first floor and Super Brands London, who will take possession of the ground floor. Although very much two separate exhibitions, they will share one registration area and a talks arena, enabling visitors to see two first-class shows in a truly impressive and unique exhibition space.

A series of three large-scale installations by international architects and artists, as voted for by subscribers will be presented at Tent London 2012. One such highlight is Foam Party by Martijn Rigters from the Royal Academy of Art (NL). By utilizing an unlikely combination of mass production and hand-driven crafts, a fully fabricated piece of furniture is shaped and designed using the human body as a living mould within just fifteen minutes. Rigters will invite visitors to co-create the products by becoming part of the installation. See other installations by System Design Studio and Neon.

For the first time at Tent, Global Color ResearchT will create the Trend Trail. As colour trend forecasters, the consultancy are specialists in analysis; in particular how hues evolve through years and are informed by consumer trends. One of the key hues for 2014 is green, which features in both their colour trend publications Mix magazine and Trends colour forecasting book. The Trail will snake through the halls of the show and consist of 4 different walls where each will be dedicated to a different design sector. A daily talk series will accompany the trail and will be held in Super Talks Arena in Super Brands.

Throughout the Brewery gallery spaces, Tent will be joined by several Country Pavilions showcasing their nations design identities. For example, Norwegian design talent is featured at 100% Norway; 12 Dutch design studios are coming together for the first live edition of the Dutch design publication Connecting the Dots; pottery from the famous Mashiko clay region of Japan is on show, as well as home-grown designs from Hungary, Poland and Taiwan.

If ever a show reflected a true London design event, Tent London is it.
