Winner: Reused Bottles Christmas Tree by Chocarro y Urmeneta S.L.P.
Simple, austere, contemporary, reusable and low energy consumption were the premises for the Christmas tree promoted by the "Mancomunidad de la Comarca de Pamplona", who are responsible for urban waste and recycling for its 355,000 inhabitants.
Highly Commended: Reflective Flow by Beau McClellan Design
Designed for the breath-taking Al Hitmi office development in Doha, Qatar, Reflective Flow is a 126ft long, 20 tonne masterpiece. Created from more than 2,300 individually hand-ground optical crystals and 165,000 LED lights, Reflective Flow is the largest interactive LED light sculpture in the world.
Shortlisted: Star-turn by Bruce Munro
Star-Turn is a lighting project by Bruce Munro which was designed as a fund-raising installation, featuring a mechanical 'bicycle' to be turned by sponsored riders through the longest night of the year (21st December). The Wiltshire-based Munro designed this piece specifically to raise funds for Help for Heroes charity on the front lawn of The Holburne Museum in Bath.
Shortlisted: Lonsdale Street by Electrolight
Electrolight began work on the Lonsdale Street project in early 2008 for Places Victoria (formally VicUrban) and The City of Greater Dandenong as part of a project team comprising artist David Sequira, Taylor Cullity Lethlean Landscape, BKK Architects, and ARUP engineers.
